Welcome Home to all of our returned
volunteers!

58 volunteers on five projects and one expedition.  Over one thousand bags of cement mixed.  One feeding centre, a toilet block, classroom foundations, four sand dams, a new puma enclosure, five houses, done.  Hours of waiting for planes, waiting for buses, done.  Tears shed at the end…who knows?  Thanks to all the teams this summer!

One of the last teams to get back have been our
intrepid Andean
Expeditioners, who’ve definitely won in the photo and reporting stakes,
sending back at least one blog or set of pics a week!  They’ve kayaked Lake Titicaca, trekked the
Apolobamba, gone ice climbing and mountain biking, helped out with some construction work at the
animal sanctuary in Bolivia….it seems the only thing they haven’t done is have
a break!  Hopefully the guys are enjoying
that now.

And of course, a huge well done and welcome
home for our Malawi
Orphans & Community volunteers. 
The twelve-strong team have grafted hard to complete a feeding centre in
the village of Mwandika, near Blantyre. 
Unfortunately, due to transport and connection issues, we haven’t
managed to receive a blog from the team, so we can’t wait to start hearing the
stories pouring in.  One of the things we’re
most keen to hear about is the volunteers’ homestay weekend, this being a first
for us in Malawi.  Knowing the kindness
that we’ve always received from communities in Malawi (justifiably known as the
‘Warm Heart of Africa’), we’re certain the homestay will have been a fantastic
experience.  We’ve been told that more
than a few tears were shed by the team when they left the village to enjoy
relaxing at the Lake, so the project has definitely made its mark.

The next time we’re looking forward to seeing everyone is at our infamous Annual Quest Reunion, a week before Christmas at a swanky venue in Clapham…check out what last year’s bash was like.  We can’t wait for this year!
