Malawi Orphans Simon and Eoins team

I was fortunate this year and was able to lead the team in Malawi. Though I was
unable to be there from the start I did have the privilege of being there for
the completion and was incredibly proud of all of those that helped to
construct the feeding centre. The bellow is a message from Andy who recently
visited the center:

A number of the committee were around to give us an update and a
few photos are attached. We arrived just after the children had their likuni so
a number of them had already returned home but there are still around 30 in the
pictures.

Before the new centre was built around 40 children attended daily
for likuni. Now there are between 60 and 65 kids attending daily; in fact we
may have to increase the number of bags of likuni phala they receive early next
year. Our Field Officers are currently

receiving training in order to train the
caregivers on pre-school education activities and Mwandika will be one of the
focus centres in the coming months.

15 members of the Youth Group continue to meet every week at the
centre. The boy who received the wheelchair is doing well and his mobility has
improved a little. We couldn’t see him unfortunately.

Andy

So once again well done Malawi summer 2011!!!!!
