Hola!

We have finally settled in the land of the ceviche! Everything is going well and no major mishaps so far.

There are nine of us in the group including our leader, Emily; Please allow me to introduce James, Nikita, Becca, Eleanor, Hannah, Alex, Holly and Isabella. Here is what we have done so far:

Day 1: Everyone arrived at various times such as 6:00 and 21:00. We had lunch with expedition team who had come to visit briefly. We went up to see a huge statue of Jesus and the view was spectacular. Pato took us to see the first house we were going to potentially replace. Then we played various games with the local community. Big football organised by James and Nikita and Pato played like a boss!

Day 2: We took the school children to an astro field to play games such as piggy back races and frisbee and hula hula. The rest of the day devoted to dance practice; Two groups, one did merengue and the other did a hip hop dance… Lucho is a good teacher although he tends to forget the dances.

Day 3: Emily and Pato showed us our way around the market and the launderette. The afternoon we were kidnapped and put on the back of a pickup truck to go have a look at several houses we were going to work on. The first had burnt down and the family has dissappeared. the second has no roof for about half of the house and the third is falling apart. The fourth house was just a tent replacement.

Day 4: we practiced dancing and we put on a show for the locals. Everything went well and we werent entirely ridiculed.
