Ever fancied just leaving behind your hectic day to day life and going away to paradise? Well this 86 year old Yorkshire man did just that!
In 1962 Brendan Grimshaw bought the island Moyenne. Since then has been reintroducing the indigenous giant turtoise and reforesting the area. He now shares the island paradise with 120 of the magnificent creatures and has brought in 1600 trees. The island was recently declared a national park by the Seychelles Government and is thought to be the smallest national park in the world.
Now that’s an exploit to be proud of! He also seems to be quite the cheeky character..
And on a final note.. Please respect the tortoises. They are probably older than you!
