As Big Momma this week I started in the best way
I possibly could finding my chickies a big Baba – old member of the Iraqi tribe
who even though was crooked in normal life could be straight for their dancing.
We weren’t at home (Wa’angaray) for the usual Big Momma swap over ceremony bt
at Mr Marcelli’s home/farm/coffee plantation. However the Iraqis showed us
there traditional tribal dancing, which was better than any ceremony we could
put on, and in return we taught them the Scottish Reel. Theirs was more
impressive naturally.
We weren’t done dancing yet as the local women came to give us a lesson even if
Jason did take over to teach us some of his moves. I think it’s safe to say we
can now give Beyonce a run for her money in the booty-shaking department.
 
Ju-Ju bear (Julian) also arrived this week causing excitment throughout the
WHOLE of Babati- move Joas over there’s a new V.I.P in town. Luckily we got to
soak up most of his attention although the children at the school put up a
pretty good fight for it. We got a chance to show off our new water tanks built
at Wa’angary as well as all the other work we have done an as the mastermind
behind LTT he talked us through his thinking behind it, the next plans for it
as well as showing us the land for the new college and a great new place to get
chipsymayai.
 
Julian’s arrival was almost upstaged by the eagerly anticipated reading and
speaking competion that was meant to happen on Friday. However TIA and it had
to be postponed till Monday- apparently the head teacher forgot some of the
children go to Mosque every Friday. We did get a new arrival at the farm
though, Haydn got to see a n’gombe mtoto (calf) born
by ceaserean complete with organs being held in by the farm workers- lucky
boy.
