Ten years ago, Quest volunteer Katie Ashbridge took part in our Villa Maria project, helping to give a better quality of life to thousands of children in Lima, Peru. She very sadly died a few years ago, but her friends decided to set up a fund to support Villa Maria in her memory.
So far, cake sales, salsa nights and various sponsored events have helped to raise well over £10,000 for the project, most of which has helped to build new homes for 20 needy families in the area, a fantastic achievement.
This month, Katie’s parents have been visiting the project in Peru for the first time, and had the chance to meet many of the families which benefitted from this support, as well as visiting the Quest primary school. Below are a few photos of their visit.
